In regards to the late Bolanle Raheem, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu went to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters on Thursday.
Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, and other senior officers met with Sanwo-Olu.
There won’t be a cover-up in the investigation and prosecution of the offender, according to Sanwo-Olu.
ASP Drambi Vandi, an officer assigned to the Ajiwe Police Station in the Ajah Division, fatally shot Bolanle.
On Christmas Day, the pregnant lawyer and her family were stopped while returning home.
Sanwo-Olu pointed out that the Lagos government and its citizens place a great deal of importance on the results of the case’s investigations.
“We need to know when the incompetent officer will be brought to justice.
Everyone has a right to know the steps taken to bring the victim and her loved ones to justice.
He emphasized the pressing need to take immediate action to make sure that fatal shootings “are reduced to the bare minimum, and, most importantly, eradicated.”
Sanwo-Olu demanded orientation and a revision of the rules and regulations, noting that the government would keep an eye on the situation to make sure Bolanle’s family received justice.
