Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, has warned people he has dubbed “false prophets” to refrain from prophesying bloodshed and disorder in the run-up to the 2023 general elections.
Sanwo-Olu also urged Nigerians to ignore such forecasts, claiming that they typically come from the country’s adversaries.
The Governor gave a speech on Sunday at the 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Service, which was held in Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos and was sponsored by the First Family of Lagos State and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Sanwo-Olu said he had upheld the high standards associated with Lagos State and asked the people of Lagos to continue having faith in his government.
He said that his administration had completed numerous iconic projects in each of the six development agenda pillars, adding, “We have done all we promised.”
“Thanksgiving this year is special because it’s Nigeria’s general election year. We are praying to God today for another peaceful and orderly transition of power, one that will resist the terrible prophecies of anarchy and violence that are spread throughout election seasons by enemies of our beloved country and false prophets, he said.
