Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate for the African Action Congress in 2023, has responded to news that President Bola Tinubu has offered the fired Service Chiefs a lavish retirement payout.

According to Sowore, Tinubu allegedly paid the fired Service Chiefs’ retirement packages so that they wouldn’t try to undermine his government

Last week, Tinubu fired the heads of all three branches of the military, as well as the head of the police, several advisers, and the head of customs.

He quickly switched them out.

It was rumored that the Chief of Defense Staff and the service chiefs were given bulletproof SUVs, personal assistants, bodyguards, and other perks of office, such as a large sum of money to pay for medical care in another country, as retirement benefits when they left their positions.

Sowore, in response, stated that he received the parcel because of the attempt to kidnap him in France.

By way of Twitter, Sowore opined, “These mouth-watering retirement offers to these suddenly retired Nigerian military top brass sounds like they held Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @ABATMediaCentre to ransom because they knew something the public didn’t know about his ‘Presidency.'” and choosing.

It’s possible that the rumor about the military’s plot to eliminate @officialABAT before he returns from France is accurate. So far, Tinubu’s consolidation of power has come at the expense of ordinary Nigerians’ interests.
