Emefiele engaged in unethical behavior toward vote-buying politicians, according to Adeyanju

Deji Adeyanju, a well-known rights activist, claimed on Wednesday that Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele had acted improperly toward vote-buying politicians in the wake of terrorist claims made by the Department of State Services, or DSS.

Adeyanju argued that Emefiele’s recent measures against corrupt politicians made the wrath directed at him legitimate.

In advance of the 2023 elections, the Abuja-based lawyer said that politicians have already stocked their homes with naira notes.

Adeyanju added in a conversation with kuryaloaded that Emefiele “did Nigerian vote-buying politicians dirty. They already had a collection of Naira notes in their residences. The outrage is well-founded.

“Only revolution, not the greedy politicians seeking for office in the so-called main political parties, can save Nigeria.

“February needs to arrive soon so that politicians may get their hands back on the brains of their fans.”

Remember how Emefiele sparked controversy by announcing the redesign of a particular denomination of naira notes?

The governor of the CBN unveiled the redesign of the N200, N500, and N1,000 notes in October.

The new naira notes, according to him, would go into effect on December 15, 2022.

He also stated that the prior version of the revised notes had a sacred deadline of January 31st, 2023.

Similar to this, the CBN unveiled a new guideline regarding naira withdrawals for private citizens and corporate entities.

The Department of State Services, or DSS, charged Emefiele with supporting terrorism and engaging in economic crime following the implementation of these regulations.
