According to reports in both German and English media, Bayern Munich is reportedly nearing a shocking transfer of Burnley manager Vincent Kompany to take Thomas Tuchel’s position as head coach.
The Belgian reportedly has an agreement in principle with Bayern, as reported by the German tabloid Bild, the British publication The Guardian, and the German network Sky.
Consequently, Burnley is currently negotiating a compensation settlement with the German club for Kompany, who has four more years left on his contract.

With just one season under their belt, Burnley has been demoted from England’s premier division.
After falling behind eventual champions Bayer Leverkusen in the title race, Bayern decided to break ways with Tuchel in February.
Kompany is only one of several names that have been connected to Bayern.
It has been reported that Bayern was approached by Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, Germany leader Julian Nagelsmann, and Austria manager Ralf Rangnick, all of whom declined the offer.
Following their semi-final loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League, Bayern made an effort to retain Tuchel. Nevertheless, Tuchel stated that the parties involved “could not reach an agreement” over his stay in the capital of Bavaria.
Kompany has played in the Bundesliga before, at Hamburg, and now at Manchester City.
He became Burnley’s manager in 2022 and led the club to promotion to the Premier League the following year after finishing in second place in the league.
Burnley were relegated to the lower level in 19th place out of 20 teams in the league because Kompany was unable to keep the club in the top tier.
