The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has directed POS owners to limit their activities to commercial zones.
Umar Shuaibu, Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), gave the directive on Wednesday.
Shuaibu stated that the administration will not allow operators to take over critical areas unlawfully.
According to the official, their indiscriminate actions were posing a security risk in the nation’s capital.
He explained that the Abuja Master Plan was designed with a neighbourhood idea that puts services closer to the people.
According to Shuaibu, POS owners should be located in business centers, plazas, markets, supermarkets, and gas stations.
The AMAC president encouraged the operators to negotiate with the owners of the locations in order to conduct business there.
“From now on, all operators must shift to commercial locations. “This will alleviate checkmate insecurity,” he adds.
