On Friday, Al Nassr of the Saudi Arabian league sealed the acquisition of former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
After his agreement with Manchester United was ended in November, Ronaldo was a free agent for just over a month.
The former striker for Real Madrid, Juventus, and Sporting Lisbon is now the highest-paid athlete in the world when ad income is taken into account.
According to CBS Sports, Ronaldo would make €216 million year if his deal with Al Nassr were fully ratified.
By far, this cannot be compared to the €75 million that Paris Saint-Germain stars Lionel Messi and Neymar earn each season.
The top ten earners following Ronaldo’s contract are listed below:
10 Kevin De Bruyne ($29 million; Man City)
9 Vissel Kobe’s Andres Iniesta, $30 million
8 Eden Hazard ($31 million; Real Madrid)
Robert Lewandowski, FC Barcelona, 7th place, $35 million
6 Erling Haaland ($39m; Man City)
5 Mohamed Salah ($53m; Liverpool)
Neymar (PSG) — $87 million
3 Lionel Messi (PSG): $110 million
2 Kylian Mbappé ($128m, PSG)
1 Cristiano Ronaldo ($214 million; Al-Nassr)
