Posted by Mauro Meluso, the sports director of Napoli, has remarked that he would consider it a major accomplishment to keep Victor Osimhen at the club.
Meluso succeeded Cristiano Guintoli as Napoli’s sporting director last week, so he’s fresh at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Former Serie A champions Guintoli has switched to a similar post at Juventus.
Napoli won the Scudetto last season, and Osimhen was a major reason why.
The 24-year-old won the Serie A scoring title with 26 goals.
European powerhouses like Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, and Bayern Munich have all shown interest in the Nigerian.
Meluso, on the other hand, is dead set on keeping the striker on the roster.
Meluso was quoted by Tutto Napoli as saying, “I’ve just arrived, and I understand that retaining Osimhen would be a significant achievement.”
“He adds something special to the team, and there aren’t many players like him.”
