The Nigerian government will shortly announce changes to civil servant salaries.
Because of the rising cost of living brought on by inflation, the government is thinking about raising wages.
On Tuesday, Chris Ngige, the minister of labor and employment, spoke to reporters at the State House in Abuja.
A Presidential Committee on Salaries began an assessment of existing compensation, according to Ngige.
Early in the next year, the advisory panel is anticipated to propose salary modifications.
The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission and the committee are cooperating.
The minister added that the Finance Ministry serves as the team’s chairman.
“I am the co-chair for the committee looking at labor expectations. Evaluation is still a topic of discussion.
The administration will make some announcements as the new year approaches, according to Ngige.
