The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu’s family has verified raising N1 million for the agitator’s food.
Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel, revealed that the funds would be given to the Department of State Services (DSS) for the Biafra agitator’s meals by Kanu’s attorney, Mike Ozekhome.
Emmanuel bemoaned the fact that Kanu was not being fed by the Federal Government while he was being held by the DSS.
“This story has been verified. When we saw Kanu on Thursday, he hadn’t eaten since the previous day.
“I questioned them (DSS) as to why they claimed that they lacked the funds to pay for his normal lunch.
So, we also told everything to Mike Ozekhome, the SAN.
“By today, SAN would make a N1 million check to give to the DSS for his food.
Since the federal government cannot take care of him, he added in a statement, “I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat.”
Recall that Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s Special Counsel, had previously expressed concern about the Federal Government’s failure to provide food for his client.
According to Ejimakor, Kanu was refused food and his medication for nine days by the DSS.
