When asked about Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s probable transfer to the Saudi Arabian club, Al-sporting Nassr’s director Marcelo Salazar reiterated that the future would be revealed when the time was perfect.
In November, by mutual choice, Ronaldo left Manchester United in the wake of his controversial conversation with British journalist Piers Morgan.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner lambasted everyone at Man United, including the club’s board, Erik ten Hag, and young players, among others.
The 37-year-old has been without a club for the past few weeks, and a transfer to Al-Nassr has been suggested.
Salazar, though, said of speculations linking Ronaldo to Al-Nassr: “I am not allowed to say yes or no. Let’s wait till the end of the year to see how things develop.
“As you must appreciate, this is a negotiation that requires the involvement of higher authorities because of its enormous significance not just for the club but also for the nation and world football. I can only argue that Cristiano Ronaldo is among the best players in football history.
“He has always been an inspiration to me as an athlete because of the drive he exhibits to succeed. Then, as a citizen of Portugal, I always supported him. But the future will become clear when the time is perfect.
