Erik ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, has shared his favorite aspect of Argentina World Cup player Lisandro Martinez.
Ten Hag stated that he admires Martinez’s initiative and added that he is confident in the player’s talent.
The Dutchman claims it was one of the factors in his decision to acquire Martinez from Ajax during the summer transfer window.
Following ten days of festivities in South America following Argentina’s World Cup victory in Qatar, Martinez returned to Man United training this week.
Ten Hag stated during his pre-game news conference that Argentina played to win, in contrast to many other nations who played not to lose, ahead of Man United’s Premier League encounter against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
“He [Martinez] has demonstrated that mindset at Manchester United on numerous occasions: to be proactive, that’s what I want.”
“I didn’t have any doubts,” he continued, “which is why I brought him in because I know he has a lot of potential.
“If he works hard, he can advance greatly; there is room for development.
Because the World Cup was such an emotional experience, “he also has a new challenge to overcome now that he’s recovering from it,”
