Youths across Nigeria are being urged by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to exercise bravery in the 2023 elections.
They were encouraged by the religious organization to avoid buying and selling votes in their areas.
The request was made at a youth summit on Sunday by Joseph Daramola, Secretary General, CAN Youth Wing (YOWICAN), in Abuja.
Daramola claimed that teenagers had suffered psychological and emotional abuse and were eager to act morally.
“Show bravery. Say no if someone tries to buy you off! Say no if someone asks you to sell your vote!
NAN reported him as saying, “You have the right to make sure you do what you need to do and be gutsy about it.”
Regarding the topic of a same-faith ticket, Damarola pointed out that parties are free to select whoever they want.
We must encourage our people to vote their conscience as Christians and youth leaders.
In response to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) pledge of fairness, Daramola voiced optimism.
The Nigerian pastor urged people to register as voters and cast ballots in the upcoming elections in February and March.
