Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has praised President Bola Tinubu’s quick intervention with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the eventual reversal of the UAE’s visa ban on Nigerians.
According to a statement released by the Commission’s head of media and public relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Chairman/CEO Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa said that Nigerians working in the UAE who had previously been unable to have their work permits renewed can now breathe a sigh of relief.
This intervention, according to the head of NIDCOM, will pave the way for a new age of cooperation and friendship between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
She added that the bilateral discussion paved the way for large investments in a wide range of Nigerian industries after the embargo was lifted and flights resumed.
The NIDCOM Chairman said she has been inundated with calls from proud Nigerians in the UAE, and she encouraged them to keep up their excellent reputations.
A diplomatic dispute between the two nations has been ongoing for over a year, causing incalculable suffering for Nigerian travelers and residents of the United Arab Emirates.
