Forward Bukayo Saka’s record for Arsenal has been called “phenomenal” and “absolutely unbelievable” by Arsenal icon Paul Merson.
Saka has now set a new record for Arsenal’s straight Premier League appearances.
The England international is expected to start Sunday’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.
With 82 league games played for Arsenal, Merson was the previous record holder.
Incredible, we’ll never do that again. Merson was recently quoted by HITC as saying on Sky Sports that “in this day and age, you are bringing players in and out of the team, you are resting them before big games.”
It’s further evidence of how crucial he is on a weekly basis. Incredibly incredible.
Saka’s contributions to Mikel Arteta’s team have been crucial.
He started all 38 of Arsenal’s league games last year, scoring 14 goals and dishing out 11 assists.
