Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, the Chief of the Air Staff, has planned a Christmas luncheon for the troops in Kaduna.
The luncheon is a part of initiatives to reward brave officers who have distinguished themselves in the north’s war on terrorism and other crimes.
The gallant display of professionalism by the officers and soldiers impressed Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, who highlighted that a strong security architecture, including airpower, was necessary to quickly overcome the challenges posed by the high risk of security threat in the nation.
He emphasized the duty of the brave officers of Operation Whirls Punch and Bada Mamaki, who are battling insurgency in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kaduna, Niger, and Kogi States.
Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Ananaba, the Chief of the Air Staff, who was represented by the AOC Air Training Command Kaduna, praised the soldiers’ tenacity and patriotism while urging them to keep up the pace of the fight until Nigeria’s security issues are resolved.
Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, committed to keep the air force and army working together to combat national security.
In addition, the Air Chief utilized the occasion to honor those who died while serving the country.
