At the Cabinet meeting, Adeleke and Osun APC governor traded insults

After 54 days in office, the Osun State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Ademola Adeleke administration of ignoring requests from the party to have a state executive meeting.

It further claimed that the state government was incompetent and had broken a number of promises made to Osun voters before the gubernatorial election.

Governor Adeleke’s attempt to hold the first meeting of the state executive was botched, according to a statement released by the Osun APC on Monday and signed by the party’s chairman, Tajudeen Lawal.

It is strange for a democratic state administration to refuse to hold executive sessions for about two months,” the statement reads.

Governor Adeleke’s hands-off attitude to governing proves he is motivated solely by the prestige of his position rather than a genuine desire to improve life in Osun State.

Advertisement “Adeleke has been appropriating funds for the running of the State without holding the state executive meetings.”

The Osun APC has stated that Governor Adeleke is a misfit for office and that his decision to move the Government House to his sister’s home in Ede is ludicrous.

Ten months into his term, the Governor has moved the Governor’s Office and Government House to his sister’s house in Ede, which is ludicrous.

To add insult to injury, he said, “Adeleke promised to release White Papers, on some of his hasty decisions through his obnoxious Executive Orders,” but had yet to do so.

Olawale Rasheed, the Governor’s Spokesperson, said that the Osun APC has amnesia on behalf of the state administration.

According to Rasheed, former governor Adegboyega Oyetola convened his first meeting of the state executive council on November 4, 2019, nearly a year after he was elected governor in 2018.

“It is therefore a probable loss of memory for the state APC to accuse the current administration of either not holding or not announcing to the public the meetings of the state executive council meeting,” he said.

To further aid the public in seeing the falsehood in the badly split state APC and the incorrigibility of the state party leadership, we pointed out this clear lie and memory loss, even though we are not using the awful record of the previous government as a standard.

In advance of a large and detailed State Executive Council meeting, “cabinet members have been deepening the state sectoral agenda through rigorous brainstorming sessions with the establishment for the past three weeks.”
