Former Liverpool captain Graeme Souness has informed Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag that Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are not reliable attackers for the Red Devils.
Prior to Manchester United’s Premier League matchup with Wolves on New Year’s Eve, Souness spoke.
Ten Hag might have handled the Cristiano Ronaldo controversy “better,” he added.
He claims that the loss of Ronaldo from Old Trafford leaves Man United lacking in the attacking department, and he has wished Ten Hag luck if he plans to rely solely on Martial and Rashford for the remainder of the season.
“I still believe that the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo should have been handled better, helping the player and manager. When I look at their roster now, I don’t see goals, yet he scored eighteen league goals last season,” Souness told the Daily Mail.
With five goals, Marcus Rashford leads the team in scoring and is having a good season. He did, however, take a two-year hiatus.
“It feels like a wing and a prayer to me if he is the one you are depending on to achieve your ambitions.
And good luck with that if [Erik] Ten Hag is still counting on Anthony Martial to speak up and be counted, he continued.
