Musli Al-Muammar, president of Al-Nassr, has downplayed claims that Cristiano Ronaldo is close to finalizing his record-breaking £173 million-per-year transfer to the Saudi club.
They are, according to Al-Muammar, “primarily a lie.”
After his contract with Manchester United was terminated last month, rumors have it that Ronaldo is getting closer to completing a move to the Middle East.
On Monday, CBS Sports reported that Ronaldo has scheduled a physical at Al-Nassr.
Al-Muammar, however, stated that the majority of the information that has been written and reported in the [Spanish] media is false after Al-Nassr and Al Hilal drew 2-2.
If Ronaldo accepts Al-offer, Nassr’s his annual salary will be $75 million (£62 million), but with image rights and other endorsements, it could go as high as £173 million.
