Manager Mikel Arteta of Arsenal has spoken out in response to the club’s extension offer to defender William Saliba.
Saliba signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal on Friday, as the club previously stated.
The 22-year-old Saliba played a crucial role for Arsenal last year.
He started at center back 33 times and played in every game for the team. He scored three goals and dished out an assist.
Arteta responded by saying that he is excited to keep working with Saliba because of the player’s talent.
In a statement posted on Arsenal’s official website, Arteta said, “To have William extend his contract with us was something we have wanted to do for a long time.”
There is so much opportunity for progress with any player at this stage of his career, but the ability he has at the age of 22 is exciting. Future collaboration with William is something we eagerly anticipate.
