The Federal Executive Council members and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have received praise for allowing the construction of 132KV substations in the Nguru and Geidam local government areas to increase power supply in the state’s northern region.
Buni expressed his praise in a statement released on Thursday and made accessible to newsmen by his spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed.
The Governor stated that the projects were approved by the Federal Executive Council at its meeting yesterday, adding that the substations would enhance the standard of living in the border areas.
He pointed out that the villages in the state’s northern region are quite ambitious and have active economic activities, which would be boosted by an increase in the availability of energy.
Buni was adamant that the action would increase wealth and employment prospects in the region and, consequently, the state as a whole.
“We sincerely appreciate that the Buhari administration has given the Yobe State people a sense of belonging,” Buni remarked.
Then he urged the residents of the state to keep backing the Buhari government in order to reap more democratic benefits.
