Assailants storm Kaduna Mosque, open fire on worshippers

The mosque in Angwar Makera, Kwasakwasa Community, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State was assaulted by gunmen on Friday, resulting in the death of two people.

During Friday prayers at around 2 o’clock, the incident allegedly occurred.

The robbers opened fire on the worshipers, according to Hudu Kwasakwasa, a village elder who confirmed the incident to journalists.

The two victims were among many Muslims who were attacked and kidnapped today at the Juma’at Mosque in Angwar Makera by bandits.

He reported that the bodies had been laid to rest at the Old Kuyello cemetery.

He claims that the assault occurred during the second raka’at of the salat, prompting the surviving worshippers to flee for their lives.

He elaborated by saying that the same bandits kidnapped nine persons in the Kwasakwasa area’s Angwar Kanawa hamlet not long ago.

According to DAILY POST, the daredevil bandits grabbed 287 students in the neighboring Chikun Local Government Area of the state, and this current attack happened less than 24 hours after that.

State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Mansir Hassan declined to comment when reached by DAILY POST, citing a security meeting.

“I will get back to you with the report as soon as we finish the security meeting,” he stated simply.
