The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has refuted claims that Atiku Abubakar, a presidential candidate, is ill.
An earlier internet report said that the former vice president’s candidacy was halted because of health problems.
To set the record straight, Senator Dino Melaye, the spokesperson and director of public affairs for the party’s presidential campaign management committee, stated that Atiku is healthy and fit as a fiddle.
Dino stated in a succinct statement he released on Sunday that the PDP candidate had been invited by the British Government and he urged Nigerians to reject any false information spreading on the internet.
The message reads, “Ignore the lies of blatant liars. Atiku is in excellent physical and mental health.
“The British Government extended an invitation to Atiku Abubakar, the front-runner in the race for president, just as they had Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi earlier.
Nigerians should no longer believe remarks made by Ikebe super like online media that were influenced by drugs.
