Cross River State Governor Benedict Ayade has warned Nigerians not to fall victim to political manipulation during the general election that would take place in 2019.
He cautioned the populace to exercise caution around politicians, describing them as dishonest.
His special adviser on media, Barrister Christian Ita, signed his New Year’s message, which included this.
“The Governor appealed on the people of the State to put Cross River above local interests and not allow self-seeking politicians to use them for their selfish objectives ahead of the upcoming general elections,” he added.
“Let’s not let dishonest politicians who have no regard for our beloved State to split us apart. Keep in mind that Cross River is the only state we have.
The governor thanked the populace for supporting his administration and for their tremendous support in general.
As our State is already on the way to growth and prosperity through significant industrialisation, the provision of essential infrastructure, and widespread employment, Ayade urged the populace to “embrace 2023 with steadfastness, faith, and optimism.”
