After a 17-year quarrel, comedian Bright Okpocha, often known as Basketmouth or AY, has at last expressed regret to his friend and coworker Ayodeji Richard Makun.

Remember how AY and Basketmouth’s ongoing argument has been in the news?

According to kuryaloaded, Basketmouth stated that he had a falling out with AY because “he messed with loyalty” in a 2021 Black Box interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

I honestly don’t want that person (AY) to hear from me again,” he admitted.

They were never pals, he continued.

In response to the long-standing rift, AY blamed a bad business deal that happened in 2006 in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo in May 2023.

However, Basketmouth, who is attempting to sell tickets for his forthcoming event in November, asked AY and the other individuals he offended for forgiveness.

The comedian offered a formal apology in a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday, accepting blame for the 17-year rift.

“Now to all the industry professionals and beyond that I have offended,” he continued. I’m sorry, and I sincerely hope you’ll pardon me, I’m expressing this to you right now. I won’t accept or reject the accusations made against me by those who claim that I did things that negatively impacted their careers in some way, but God knows the truth. But please, from the bottom of my heart, pardon me.

“Now, to my guy AY, I’m not sure if my apology is still legitimate at this time, but if it is, I really apologize for everything I’ve ever done or said that has negatively impacted you. Please accept my sincere apology. And I want you to know that I have forgiven you for everything, whether you did it intentionally or not. It’s gone, and all I wanted was for us to go in harmony and serenity.

“Now, for the individuals who are speculating that this apologetic video is the result of my upcoming performance on November 26, I would want to declare that you are entirely correct. While I’m attempting to promote my concert and sell tickets, I want to express my regret for everything I’ve done.
