Bruno Fernandes, a midfielder for Manchester United, has commented on David De Gea’s decision to become a free agent.
In a short social media statement on Saturday, De Gea announced his departure.
The club retracted their contract offer and replaced it with a new one that paid the Spanish player less, prompting his departure from Old Trafford after 12 years.
Fernandes has now lamented the disappointing conclusion to De Gea’s career in an Instagram post.
The Portugal international believes that De Gea deserved a decent farewell from his fans.
“You deserved to say goodbye to the stadium with all the fans cheering you for all the beautiful memories,” wrote Fernandes.
