Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning musician from Nigeria who goes by Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, became the first African artist to have an album chart at No. 1 in the UK with “I Told Them.”

Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, “I Told Them,” arrived at number one this week on the UK albums chart, the Official Charts Company reported on Friday.

The British record chart business gave the singer of “African Giant” a plaque to honor his achievement.

He informed them! As he claims his first Number 1 album, @burnaboy creates UK chart history today, the business tweeted.

The tweet was mentioned by a delighted Burna Boy with the comment, “Let’s Have It! I told them: “#ITOLDTHEM #ITOLDTHEMNUMBER1.”

Before eventually reaching the top of the UK albums chart with his most recent album, the Port Harcourt-born singer’s previous two studio albums, Twice As Tall and Love Damini, peaked at Numbers 2 on the chart.
