Danny Murphy, a former player for Tottenham and Liverpool, has acknowledged that he never anticipated Arsenal to maintain their lead in the Premier League up to this point.

Additionally, he identified Mikel Arteta’s team’s “irreplaceable” player as Martin Odegaard.

After beating Brighton 4-2 on Saturday, Arsenal moved up seven points in the Premier League standings, while Manchester City lost to Everton at the Etihad on New Year’s Eve.

Odegaard’s performance particularly impressed Murphy, who claimed the Norwegian international was the “one player” Arsenal would find it difficult to replace.

Murphy said on BBC’s Match of the Day, “I do think Odegaard is the one player they would difficult to replace.

“They have other excellent players, but I think it would be difficult for them to replace him.”

When considering Arsenal as a whole, they are present. I had anticipated them to disappear, but they haven’t.
