Rio Ferdinand has said who Manchester United’s most important player is.
The player Erik ten Hag signed last summer says that Casemiro is the most important player in his team.
This was because the Brazilian played so well again in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Manchester derby on Saturday.
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scored late goals to help the Red Devils beat City at Old Trafford after falling behind by a goal.
Ferdinand liked how the Brazilian played in midfield so far, not just in the game against City but also since he came from Real Madrid.
He told BT Sport, “In that environment, they would have been a fragile team. You could see the cracks, but you can also see that they are a team, and Casemiro is the glue that holds them all together.”
“I think he was the most important piece of the puzzle for them as a whole. He is the center of everything.”
