Quique Sentien, the manager of Villarreal, paid tribute to Samuel Chukwueze after the winger scored his first LaLiga goal of the year against Valencia on Saturday.
Chukwueze’s outstanding goal at the Estadio de la Ceramica brought his total for the season to six goals and six assists across all competitions.
Edison Cavani’s goal late in the first half was cancelled out by Chukwueze as the Yellow Submarine came back to win the game.
The UEFA Europa League champions scored the winning goal in the second half thanks to Juan Foyth.
Since Unai Emery’s replacement by Setien, Chukwueze has experienced a sustained run of success.
He scored his 30th career goal for Villarreal in the match against Valencia.
According to Setien, Chukwueze was already a key player prior to his arrival and is currently performing at a high level.
“In the top positions, where I have six players who could have started out wonderfully, I have had to consider the most. Samu and the others are aware that they must make sacrifices in order to maintain their position.
