French Bilingual College and Chinese Bilingual College, Kwankwaso, in the Madobi Local Government Area of the state, have had their principals suspended immediately by Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, the Kano State Commissioner for Education, for absence and carelessness to duty.
The placements of Umar Akilu Sabo at the French Bilingual College and Isyaku Umar Abdullahi at the Chinese Bilingual College Kwankwaso have also been sanctioned by the ministry.
According to a statement released today by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, the ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, the suspended principals were not present at their respective schools when the take-up inspection team paid a visit today to supervise the start of the 2023/2024 academic year’s first term.
The statement claims that an inspection team led by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Hajiya Kubra Imam, found that the two colleges’ pupils were not fed on Sunday night and that their Monday breakfast had not been prepared.
Doguwa cautioned all school administrators to avoid doing anything that would derail the current administration’s push to improve the educational system.
In the meantime, the commissioner has praised the efforts of the principals of Government Girls College, Kano Kofar Famfo, and Government Girls Secondary School, Kwankwaso. Both institutions are preparing for the 2023/2024 school year.
