He needs to be patient, Ian Wright says of the Arsenal player

After his lackluster performance for the Gunners in their 3-0 FA Cup victory against Oxford on Sunday night, Arsenal veteran Ian Wright urged midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga to be ‘patient’.

As Arsenal overcame Oxford United with goals from Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny, Lokonga struggled to make an impression.

The 23-year-old made his Arsenal debut against the League One team, but after failing to make an impression, he was replaced shortly beyond the hour mark.

ITV Sport quoted Wright as saying, “I think with [Albert Sambi] Lokonga, Oxford played extremely well the time he was on, it was very hard for him to find space.”

Unfortunately for him, [Fabio] Vieira was kept on and was able to demonstrate his talent once they were worn out and he had a little more room.

“You are hoping that it will eventually start working for Lokonga because it doesn’t seem to be happening for him right now. I believe he just needs to be patient.
