On Sunday afternoon, Genk defeated championship challenger Club Brugge 3-1 in a Belgian Pro League match at the Cegeka Arena as Paul Onuachu continued his prolific scoring form.
The dramatic game was won by the Smurfs after they came back from being down a goal.
Hans Vanaken, a midfielder from Belgium, gave Club Brugge the lead after 21 minutes.
Four minutes later, Carlos Cueta equalized the score for the home team.
Onuachu’s goal in the 67th minute gave Wouter Vrancken’s team their first advantage.
Nine minutes from the end, Bryan Heynen gave the home team no chance.
In his 16 league outings for Genk this season, the 28-year-old has now scored 14 goals.
Following the victory, Genk increased their lead at the top of the standings to 10 points.
