Bolanle Raheem, a lawyer practicing in Lagos, was fatally shot, and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is seeking additional information.

A policeman working for the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, Lagos, assassinated the attorney on Christmas Day.

Habeeb Lawal, the NBA’s press secretary, denounced the incident and noted that it signaled a return of the police to their violent past.

The spokesperson issued a statement advising the security agency and everyone to remember what sparked the EndSARS protest that rocked the country.

Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau (SAN), the NBA President, was on top of the matter, according to Lawal, and was reaching out to stakeholders.

He pointed out that the NBA had taken the initiative to learn the truth about the brutal death of one of its own.

The group of attorneys said that it had alerted the police of its intention to file a complaint on behalf of Raheem’s family.

In order to follow up and guarantee a prompt but complete examination of the alleged crime, a team has been formed.

The NBA expressed its concern that the police appeared to be returning to the dark days of police brutality and warned that no one or any authority should forget the lessons learned during the #EndSARS movement.

In the statement, members and Nigerians were advised to maintain calm as the investigation got underway and to pray for Bolanle Raheem’s eternal peace.
