The Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian government have been accused by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) of attempting to assassinate Nnamdi Kanu, the group’s leader.
Kanu needs a specialist due to a heart condition and mineral shortages, lamented IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful.
Powerful emphasized that the DSS’s refusal to give Kanu food and medicine is a “systematic” way of assassinating their leader.
Recall that Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s Special Counsel, had expressed concern for the agitator’s welfare while being held by the DSS.
According to Ejimakor, the DSS denied Kanu his medication and food for nine days.
Therefore, Powerful commanded the Nigerian government to free Kanu so he could receive appropriate medical care.
According to a statement from Powerful, Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, who is unlawfully being held in solitary confinement by the DSS, is being purposefully targeted for eradication by the Nigerian government.
“Kanu is suffering from heart issues and some mineral deficiencies that need to be treated by medical professionals, but the Nigerian government has refused to free him as Nigerian courts ordered or to grant him access to his private doctors.
“Instead, they have resorted to buying his medication from roadside pharmacies, which we view as a methodical and progressive death of him and last technique of elimination.
“Therefore, we, the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), call on the Nigerian government to promptly free KANU if they are unable to pay for his supplies.”
