Despite earlier declarations by the labor unions, the Federal Government has insisted there will be no strike in the country.

After the Federal Government ignored their demands, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) resolved on Tuesday to launch a statewide strike, as previously reported by kuryaloaded.

But the administration has announced that Tinubu will make the official announcement about the employees’ relief package during the traditional presidential speech marking Nigeria’s Independence Day.

The meeting on Tuesday, according to Ministry of Labor Spokesperson Olajide Oshundun, would focus on the announcements that President Bola Tinubu will make during his Independence Day broadcast on October 1.

We will stop the strike,” he assured them. The word of their planned strike reached us. They should have faith that Mr. President would make an announcement in his speech to the Nigerian people on October 1.

The government is making every effort to fulfill the second part of the demand, which deals with the compensation package. We have already successfully negotiated the factional chairman of NURTW’s release.

After the President’s announcement on Tuesday, we plan to invite them to see why they should end the strike.
