Since his contract with Manchester United was canceled in November, Ronaldo is currently without a club.
According to Hellmann, United tried to get rid of the 37-year-old by making offers to other teams in Europe.
“He was even offered to us,” he said to DAZN.
Philip Holzer, the club’s head of the supervisory board, continued, “I have the impression he was offered to every Champions League club.”
After winning the Europa League championship the previous year, Frankfurt earned a spot in the Champions League this year.
