Ohanaeze disagrees with Simon Ekpa’s call to keep Nnamdi Kanu in jail indefinitely.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the apex Igbo sociocultural organization, has advised South-East people to disregard Mr. Simon Ekpa’s call for a one-week sit-at-home in the region.

Ekpa had previously declared a weeklong stay-inside beginning on July 3, 2023.

Despite the mainstream leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, stopping the exercise, the Biafra agitator based in Finland has continued to lead regular Monday sit-at-home in the South-East.

The economic impact of the strike has been criticized by a number of organizations, people, and state governments.

However, Ekpa has once more requested that residents of the South and East not leave their homes for a whole week.

In a message acquired by INVERSE24 on Monday, Ohanaeze Youths National President Mazi Okwu Nnabuike asked people in the South-East to disobey Ekpa’s order.

Okwu called Ekpa’s edict “dictatorial,” arguing that he had no right to lounge around in his plush Finnish apartment and then tell others they couldn’t go out and find work for a week.

“We have always made it clear that Simon Ekpa is not fighting for Biafra; he is only using the name of Biafra to enrich himself,” the youth organization declared.

Because the day Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is released, his business will be over, he has no interest in seeing his release, either.

So, he goes ahead and makes the decisions and gives the instructions that will keep Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in prison for a long time.

“One example is his unreasonable and irrational demand that everyone stay home. The earner should not be expected to sit at home for a week while his family starves to death. It makes zero rational sense.

The fact that the order’s source is probably in Finland on a vacation makes it all the more dishonest.

Don’t take him seriously, Ndigbo; instead, go about your daily lives as usual. No place is a “sit-at-home.”

In addition, Okwu stated that IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had also spoken out against the sit-in, saying that it was not in the zone’s best interest.

“For Ekpa to be promoting it against the directive of the IPOB leader, Kanu shows that he is on a personal mission and should be ignored,” Okwu continued.
