The apex Igbo social and cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has revealed the demands that will get President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay attention to the South-East zone.
When governors from the region and Igbo leaders back him, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a factional Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, claims Tinubu would give attention to the South-East.
Isiguzoro went on to say that the efforts of Igbo leaders to unseat Tinubu by supporting Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, will be fruitless. He urged them, though, to stop backing Obi and start backing Tinubu.
The governors of the Southeastern states should publicly back Tinubu and collaborate with him regardless of their political affiliation.
We have seen that the ruling party has two states in the Southeast, APGA has one state, and the Labour Party and the PDP each have one state. Therefore, those who have been supporting Peter Obi should renounce their support for him and publicly announce their support for Tinubu.
So, they should come out in full support of Tinubu now. This is what the Southeast needs to get Tinubu’s attention.
No amount of covert pressure from the Ohanaeze and Igbo elders on Peter Obi to unseat Tinubu will ever work. He told KURYALOADED, “We will ensure that all those unrepentant elders are made to support and work with Tinubu.”
