Timothy Owoeye, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, has urged Nigerians and the people of Osun to put the hardships of the past year behind them and move forward in the new year with hope for the Nigeria they seek.
In order to hasten the recovery of the economy, the Speaker urged Nigerians to make every effort to ensure that tested and qualified candidates are elected in this year’s general elections. The message was delivered by his media assistant, Kunle Alabi.
Owoeye emphasized that people and residents must wait in the belief that everything lost due to the economic difficulty of the previous year will be recovered through tenacity, patience, and hard effort.
As Nigeria enters a new chapter of economic prosperity in the new year, he reaffirmed that the country would overcome its security and economic difficulties.
“As we enter the year 2023, I urge my good people of Osun and Nigeria to rise in hope and take control of their destiny. Everyone’s small contribution to Nigeria’s growth will make a significant difference in the country’s quality of life.
“We must also treat this year’s general elections seriously. All hands must be on deck to make sure that they are free of violence, fair, and that voters choose candidates who can take Osun and Nigeria to new heights.
“We should vote for the finest candidates, regardless of our tribe, religion, or personal interests. Poor infrastructure is our shared adversary; it doesn’t know you, it doesn’t respect you, and unless we use our votes wisely, we will all suffer together.
“With a little help from you and a little help from me, our state and nation will finally improve.
“You and I are well aware that success and innovation cannot occur in the presence of darkness. Even the most dismal situation can be transformed with the correct mentality; if we all prioritize the country in all we do, the change we all seek can materialize within our lifetimes.
