Obi claimed that both he and his deputy, Datti Baba-Ahmed, are still youthful and have the vigor needed to run Nigeria.
According to Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, only those who are both physically and psychologically capable of holding office should be allowed to run for office.
He claims that he meets all the standards.
He urged candidates from other parties who were alleged to lack the mental and physical fortitude to learn to retire when the time came.
Speaking at a campaign event over the weekend in Osogbo, Osun State, Obi claimed that he and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, were still youthful and had the vigor needed to lead Nigeria.
If elected, the state would become the center of reliable electricity, he mourned, pledging.
“Both physical and mental energy are needed for this profession. When the time is right, people should retire. People in Nigeria are starving, the youth are jobless, and it is unsafe to travel anyplace in the country right now. These problems were brought on by people who claim to have a party structure, but these structures have destroyed Nigeria. By voting them out next month, we intend to demolish these institutions.
“We will reunite and safeguard Nigeria. We desire for every Nigerian to be proud of their nationality. We’ll leave behind a stable Nigeria. Nigerians shouldn’t be housed in IDP camps, say we. In your own country, we don’t want you to be a slave.
“With the fear of God, we’re going to run this nation. You’ll get jobs from us. Nigeria will transition from being a consumer nation to a producer nation.
These individuals continue to boast about their structures while being inactive. Youth unemployment and lack of production are problems in this state, but we shall address them.
Our money was stolen by those who own structures. My deputy and I will battle corruption. Before we joined the government, we ran our own enterprises and made money from them. To date, we have never taken money from anyone.
On election day, they will give you money; gather the cash and cast your vote to remove them. Because we will make the country function, we will put an end to the strategy to make Nigerians beggars, Obi pledged.
