The people of Taraba State have once more been guaranteed by the state’s commissioner of police, Abimbola Sokoya, of watertight security before, during, and after the current holiday season.
He declared that the leadership had sent out no less than 5000 police officers.
The Commissioner stated that he had instructed his Deputy on operations to make sure that the people celebrate the holiday without any type of disruption in Jalingo, the capital of the State, over the weekend through the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi.
The commissioner listed several other steps the command has taken to prevent a breakdown in law and order both during and after the celebration, including sending out secular to every Area Division to guard places of worship.
He claimed that “secular had already been sent to all Area Divisions across the State to ensure that they also provide appropriate protection at the Churches and other sites for a successful celebration.”
He declared that the leadership has outlawed the use of explosives and other weapons throughout the United States.
At the time this report was being filed, highly armed policemen were seen setting up surveillance around some key locations in the Jalingo metropolis and its surroundings.
