The families of 11 cops who died in the line of duty in Niger have received checks totaling N20.7 million

Ogundele J. Ayodeji, the commissioner of police for the Niger State, has given 11 families of police officers who passed away while on duty in the Command between 2021 and 2022 a check for N2.7 million.

In a gloomy setting at the Police State Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura, Minna, Ayodeji delivered the checks to Force Group Life Insurance Scheme beneficiaries on behalf of IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

The plan is a welfare initiative started by the Inspector General of Police with the goal of bettering the lives and financial situation of the families of deceased police officers who died in the line of duty.

The CP complimented the IGP for taking such a commendable step to support the families of the deceased while handing over the checks to the next-of-kin and family members.

Ayodeji urged the recipients to wisely manage and utilize the monies for their families’ improved wellbeing.

The bereaved families of the deceased expressed their happiness and gratitude to the IGP, the administration, and the CP for their efforts to ensure greater support for the grieving families.

They all gave their word that the funds would be wisely used to raise the relatives’ standard of living.
