On September 12, it was reported that Mohbad had passed away; he was laid to rest on September 13.

Aloba defended his speedy burial of the musician as being in keeping with Yoruba tradition in a recent interview that was posted to Instagram on Tuesday by Temilola Sobola (@TemilolaSobola).

If both parents are still living, he says, the funeral must take place immediately.

When both of a child’s parents are still living, the Yoruba will not keep his body.

To my knowledge, Mohbad never possessed any other property than the plot of land where he was buried.

Because we had already decided to build the church there, and because that was the only place I knew he possessed, he truly offered me the land to build my church there, Aloba stated.

There are conflicting reports online about what happened the day Mohbad went away at the age of 27.

There have been rumors that his body may be unearthed in order to find out what exactly killed him.
