Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has threatened legal action against Governor Abdulrahaman Abdurazaq of Kwara State for reportedly accusing him of embezzling UBEC monies while he was the state’s governor.

Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq’s assertion that he misappropriated money from the Universal Basic Education Fund and used his position as Senate President to block the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from looking into the matter was denounced by the two-term governor of Kwara State as an outright lie that the governor must retract right away.

In a statement sent by his press representative for local issues, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki threatened to take the governor to court if he didn’t repudiate the comments within seven days.

“I have overlooked all of his lies throughout this time because I think he was using them as a quick fix to cover up his poor leadership. Now that he won’t stop making up lies against me, I’ll have to take drastic action by taking him to court.

Saraki said, “I have directed my attorneys to ask him to withdraw the allegation or be prepared to prove it in court.”

The assertion was purportedly made by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on Sunday during the inauguration of the campaign council for the APC senatorial candidate for Kwara Central, according to kuryaloaded.
