Timi Frank alleges a plot to assassinate Emefiele in writing to the US, UK, EU, and others

Comrade Timi Frank, a former APC deputy national publicity secretary, has alerted the public to an alleged plot to assassinate Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

According to the kuryaloaded, Emefiele was in the headlines after claims that the Department of State Services (DSS) intended to detain him and file charges against him for supporting terrorism in order to forcibly and illegally remove him from his position as the governor of the central bank.

However, Frank urged the international community, particularly the United States of America, United Kingdom, European Union, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund, to act urgently in a statement released on Thursday.

He said that he thought some people were uneasy about Emefiele’s initiatives, particularly the choice to redesign the naira because it looks to obstruct their attempts to buy votes in the upcoming general election.

Frank urged the Nigerian secret police, if it had any proof connecting Emefiele to the aforementioned charge, to clear itself of partisanship by adhering to due process.

Frank stated: “I have it on good authority that some members of the current administration led by the APC are planning to kill Governor Emefiele in coordination with some security agencies.”

He stated that he believed the purported conspiracy would shake up the general election for the following year.

Frank emphasized that it was noteworthy that the same government, through its security agencies like the DSS, defended Prof. Isa Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, over his alleged past extremist views and support for Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, even when the minister admitted to the past Islamic messages.

He cited a recent revelation by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government that six prominent Nigerians were among those financing terrorism in Nigeria.

Frank emphasized that despite the DSS purportedly moving quickly to pursue an allegation of financing terrorism against Emefiele, the agency had done nothing to bring these people to court.

It is very evident that this conspiracy is closely related to the politics of 2023, he said. We thus make a plea to the international community to intervene and urge those responsible for the heinous crime against the CBN Governor to stop.
