Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, and President Muhammadu Buhari met in the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday night behind closed doors.

On his verified Twitter account, Bashir Ahmad, the Special Assistant to the President for Digital Communications, acknowledged this event.

President Muhammadu Buhari met with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our presidential candidate, earlier today at the State House in Abuja, according to Ahmad.

The APC and its candidates had earlier received assurances from Buhari that he would ensure their electoral success in the general elections of 2023 through a statement released by his spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu.

The presidential candidate and other party candidates can count on Buhari to always be ready to campaign for them with “full enthusiasm and passion.”

The pledge, according to the president, was intended to allay worries that had been voiced in some quarters about the fact that he had not been in any campaigns since the national launch in Jos, Plateau State.

He emphasized, however, that even while he was still committed to party politics, the president’s roles and responsibilities will always be honored.

On Wednesday, Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president, paid Tinubu a visit at his home in Abuja.
