Sarafa Isola, Nigeria’s high commissioner to the UK, has been called back by President Bola Tinubu.

Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, wrote a letter informing the public of the envoy’s recall.

In the letter, it is said that “I have the honor to notify you of Mr. President’s decision to recall you, signaling the end of your tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Kingdom.”

By way of this notification, you are now required to start winding down your business, formally leave your host government within sixty days, and return to Nigeria by the latest date of October 31, 2023.

On behalf of Tinubu, Tuggar thanked the ambassador for his service and wished him luck in his future endeavors.

Recall that Isola was appointed as the UK’s high commissioner by the late President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021.

Under late former President Musa Yar’Adua, Isola served as the minister for mines and steel development.
