Samson Balogun, alias Sam Larry, has been publicly shunned by the Elegushi Royal Family of the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos State.
On Thursday, September 14, 2023, the royal family issued a statement publicly rejecting the show’s promoter.
It made it clear that Sam Larry, like the rest of the people, came before the king solely to offer his respects and ask for the king’s favor.
The monarchy has demanded an in-depth investigation into the murder of 27-year-old Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, alias Mohbad, while expressing condolences to the singer’s family.
The statement said, among other things, that “Samson Balogun [Sam Larry] is not a member of the royal family and does not work for the royal family or the king in any capacity.” Just like the rest of the public, he pays his respects to the king and asks for the royal family’s approval by paying a visit to the palace.

On Tuesday, September 10, 2023, Mohbad passed away, just over a year after his bitter breakup with the Marlian Music record company, founded by Naira Marley.
