Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun State, has stated that he and his aides narrowly avoided a plane disaster. He believes that the aircraft’s engines may have been tampered with.
On Sunday, the governor confirmed the event in a statement released through his office’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
The private plane owned by billionaire businessman Chief Adedeji Adeleke caught fire at take-off point at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, and the governor and his aides narrowly survived the tragedy, according to information obtained by kuryaloaded.
Rasheed, responding to news of the crash, said that well-maintained planes would not attract birds to nest there.
According to him, “birds’ nests are made with straws not bidding wires as in this case, contrary to the claim by the hanger owner that birds’ nests caused the incident.”
Not even two minutes had passed since taxing had begun on the tarmac when the near-fatal catastrophe was avoided.
The pilots quickly ordered the evacuation of the passengers after hearing an early warning noise from the engines. Within that timeframe, everything transpired.
Internal investigation preliminary findings pointed to sabotage. But police on various levels are still looking into what happened.
While assuring the public that Adeleke and his aides were unharmed, Olawale also thanked the many well-wishers and supporters who had called since news of the incident spread.
According to information obtained by kuryaloaded, efforts were made to hide the airplane mishap from becoming public knowledge.
